Weather is different in 4 seasons in Northern Vietnam (spring, summer, fall, winter) but with the climate change, the seasons are not so clearly distinguished. In general, it can be mainly divided into cold dry winters and hot humid summers.
- Summer (May – Aug): the whole region is quite hot. Summer rains are sudden and even some unexpected typhoons that might lead to a cancellation of your trip.
- Autumn (Sept – Oct): the weather is cooler with the chance of storms although they are short lived. The air is clearer, less humid.
- Winter (Nov – Jan): Winter months from late November to January are quite cold and dry. It can be foggy in the morning, bringing the bay in a mysterious beauty. However, it is the peak season for the bay.
- Spring (Feb – Apr): is lovable, with clear skies and cool evening breezes. It’s a beautiful time of the year. There is still the possibility of rainy and foggy conditions during the spring months, but the fog is not as thick as it is in the winter.
The best time to visit the bay is in the Autumn (from September to November) and in the Spring (from March to May). For those months, the temperature is pleasing, and the sky is clear with soft sunshine, this time will not be affected by bad weather. It’s better to enjoy fantastic outdoor experiences in this time. Summer is also a great time to enjoy the sea, but the weather conditions can be difficult and there will be tropical storms happening this time.
